Welcome to SeeD's 'Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion' Training Platform

A warm welcome to all partners, practitioners and participants of the SeeD 'Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion' community.

This is the homepage of SeeD’s online interactive training platform, where we will introduce you to our evidence-based policy design methodology. You may know of this as the SCORE methodology but our Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion is a broader, scientific and principled process framework. This training focuses on the steps and principles of this process framework, which is shared by SCORE but is bigger and broader and can be customised globally for different outcomes of interest, from gender empowerment to violence prevention and youth inclusion. We will guide you through the process of designing and implementing evidence-based policy design approaches based on SeeD's robust and scientific process framework.

This is a closed training designed for people who want to develop their skills on how to design, conduct, interpret and use participatory and scientific assessment tools that can produce robust evidence relevant for effective policy and programmatic design, which can help improve decision making for sustaining peace and fostering social cohesion.

It is envisioned that people who complete this training become part of SeeD's alliances around the world where we promote and implement Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion efforts such as SCORE Liberia. The training materials published on this platform are SeeD’s intellectual property and should not be downloaded or used separately from the training. Undoubtedly, the skills you develop are yours to incorporate into your work, and SeeD is here to support and mentor you whenever needed.

On this platform you will find 5 different 'modules' related to the separate steps of the evidence-based policy design process cycle. These are:

●            Module 1: Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion

●            Module 2: Conceptual and Theoretical Foundations

●            Module 3: Calibration of the Process Framework to New Contexts

●            Module 4: Data Analysis Tools

●            Module 5: Creating Policy Impact

Each module consists of lessons ending with a knowledge check (quiz) to assess the skills and competencies we aim to develop. Each module also includes additional components such as a lesson discussion forum for interactive engagement and additional resources that may include reading materials and videos. You can contact other participants from the participant tahere, and also access these additional resources via the Library tab here.

New modules are released with a few days/weeks apart. You can find the release dates from the calendar tab hereand complete these at your own pace by 31st of March.

Follow the modules in chronological order and you will become familiar with every step taken in the journey of SeeD’s Evidence-based Policy Design for Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion process framework. If you have any questions or want to share insights with other participants, you can start a discussion within the relevant lessons' discussion forum. You can also write your comments in the final feedback at the end of each lesson to help us improve the training platform for future iterations. Lastly, there is a course structure as a check-list to help you track and make sure that you have completed each and every section under each module.

If you have any questions, first consult the "FAQ" section and “Troubleshootingdiscussion forums listed below. If you cannot find answers to your questions there, please contact learnscore@seedsofpeace.eu.

We would like to encourage you to follow your personal development and of others to enrich the platform and the training experience with your insights and ideas, towards establishing a close-knit evidence-based policy design for peacebuilding and social cohesion community. This training is the first of its kind, and you are the first round of participants. We are excited to embark upon this journey together with you.

Together we can nurture our  current and future efforts to improve peacebuilding practices and foster social cohesion globally. In this way we can continue spreading and strengthening our Seeds of Peace.

Before we end our welcome note, we must extend our a special appreciation and thanks to our partners, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Liberia and United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) for funding this training platform

We hope you will have a great learning experience!

Kindly with Peace,

SeeD Team
